As we await the final episodes of the beloved Taylor Sheridan-created drama, we curated a cute gallery of the Yellowstone cast’s children. Meet the real-life kids of Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser and more actors below.
Kevin Costner, who plays leading man John Dutton III on Yellowstone, has seven children in total. He has three adult children from his previous marriage to Cindy Silva, which lasted from 1978 to 1994. His daughter Anne Costner is 39, his second daughter Lily Costner is 36 and his son Joe Costner is 35. Costner opened up about the struggles of his first divorce to The Hollywood Reporter in 2012. “My faith was shaken,” he told our sister site. “No one wants their marriage to end, and it did. You are going to see the people you love most, your children, only half as much. That’s a huge loss.” According to Forbes, Costner reportedly had to pay Silva a hefty settlement of $80 million. The lead actor also has a 26-year-old son named Liam, who is from his former relationship with heiress Bridget Rooney.
Costner also has three kids from his most recent marriage with Christine Baumgartner. His wife filed to divorce Costner on May 1, in Santa Barbara, California, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly. Costner and Baumgartner have three children: Sons Cayden (age 15) and Hayes (age 14) and their daughter Grace (age 12). Costner told People shortly after Cayden was born that he had hesitations about being a father over 50. “I hope I have as much energy for Cayden as I had for my first,” he told the platform. “My fundamental fear is that my new baby, someone [else] will raise him, meaning that my life will end prematurely. I won’t get to coach him in what I think it is to be a man. I’d like to be the person that tells him about life.”
The actor also revealed to People in November 2022 that Hayes will have a small part in Costner’s four-part western film, Horizon. “Hayes plays the namesake character that I actually play in the movie. He’s 13 years old and the screenplay’s been around longer than that.” As for Costner’s youngest daughter Grace, the actor shared that, unlike her brothers who enjoyed playing sports, Grace was more of a “girly girl.” “She’s sewing and she’s dancing, but when she sees the ball bouncing out in the backyard I can feel her gravitating out with the boys — but everything has to stop when she plays,” he said in an interview with Today.
Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton)
Yellowstone’s Wes Bentley, who plays John’s Dutton’s adopted son Jamie Dutton, has two children with his wife Jacqui Swedberg, who he married in 2010. The couple welcomed their first child, son Charles Bentley, in 2010. They had their daughter, Brooklyn Bentley, four years later in 2014.
In an interview with NextMovie in 2023, Bentley opened up about how fatherhood changed him. While promoting the film The Time Being
in 2012, he said: “I was drawn to the story about trying to be an artist and have a family, and whether you could do both. I had had my own minor struggle with that in my head when I knew I was going to be a father, but I didn’t have as big of a battle as [my character] did. I decided quickly—I said, ‘I’m gonna be a great father, and if I struggle as an artist, that’s fine.’ But I’ve found that actually, [fatherhood] has really made me a better actor, a better artist.”
Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler)
Cole Hauser plays fan-favorite cowboy and John Dutton’s right hand Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone. Hauser and his wife Cynthia Hauser have three children together. They had their eldest Ryland Hauser in 2004, Colt Hauser in 2008 and their youngest and only daughter, Steely Hauser, in 2013.
In an Instagram post on May 22, 2023, Hauser announced that his firstborn was heading to Texas Christian University for college in the fall. “So very proud of my first-born boy,” Hauser shared with a photo of Ryland, who looked a lot like his father as he posed in TCU gear. “Can’t wait to see your next chapter in your life!” Ryland thanked his Mom and Dad “for creating me into the man I am today! You have done an amazing job raising me, showing anything is possible if I put my mind to it! Can’t wait to go chase my dreams and put words into reality!”
Forrie J Smith (Llyod Pierce)
Forrie J Smith, the expertly skilled real-life cowboy Taylor Sheridan recruited to the show, plays Lloyd Pierce in Yellowstone. Smith has decided to keep his family private, but we do know that he has one son who is an aspiring actor wo guest starred in Yellowstone Season 5.
In the first part of Seaon 5, when the show traveled back in time 20 years to explore Beth and Rip’s youth, we saw a young Lloyd working on the ranch. It turns out that the show recruited Smith’s real-life son, Forrest Smith, to step in as a younger version of his father for the episode. His son’s other film credits incude the short film The Magi. He also did stunt work for At the End of the Santa Fe Trail.
Wendy Moniz (Lynell Perry)
Wendy Moniz portrays Lynell Perry on Yellowstone, the Montana governor-turned-senator who had a romantic relationship with John Dutton III. Moniz and her husband of 19 years, Frank Grillo, called it quits in February 2020, according to People. The couple met on the set of the soap opera Guiding Light in the late 1990s and were married in October 2000. Moniz and Grillo share custody of two children, Liam Grillo (Age 18) and Rio Joseph Grillo (Age 15). Additionally, Moniz also shares custody of Remy Grillo (Age 25), who is from her husband’s previous marriage to Kathy Grillo.

She also wished her other son, Rio Joseph, a happy 13th birthday back in January 2022. “My youngest is a teenager now. I had multiple pictures to share here in celebration of this special day, but I only got his approval for this one. I’ll take it. Happy 13th birthday Rio Joseph! You are the brightest light, & so so loved #teenager.”
